Born and raised in Toledo, I am currently a student at the University of Toledo studying Art-New Media as a major, and Japanese as minor. I started creating comics when I was
14 years old, and since then I have been self-publishing my own series. One day I hope to take my work to the next level and create a video game or animation (I already have the
plans for them! haha)
In terms of art, I really like to experiment with different styles, mediums, and storylines. I prefer to work with loose ideas, rather than strict guides or outlines, which is
why there is still no set outline for my current projects. Art should always be able to change, and I think it should also tell a story. Images are already great story tellers, and I
have enjoyed giving them more depth and meaning by extending them into sequential works.
For the most part, I am inspired by anything and everything I have ever seen. Specifically though, I can say that artists such as Rumiko Takahashi (InuYasha/Ranma 1/2) and Tite Kubo (Bleach) were early inspirations when I started drawing in manga-style. Today, I am more inspired by two very different styles: 1) manhwa & shojo, they are really pretty and shiny, and 2) Marvel & Hiroshi Takahashi, specifically the delinquent/action/sort of realistic styling. There are dozens of other stories/comics/animations that inspire me, but these are the most prominent at the moment.
